What is Chefs Select Parchment Paper made of?
A. It is a silicone coated densified paper, which provides terrific non-stick properties. It has been used for
many years in bakeries and commercial kitchens. It has also been used for many years in
European and British home kitchens where is it more commonly known as greaseproof paper.
Q.
What is the difference between Bleached Pulp and Natural
Pulp?
A.
Both Bleached Pulp and Natural Pulp are food grade
approved as long as they are processed according to the
CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) guidelines. The only
difference between these two pulps is that one has been
bleached and one has not. The important issue is that
both Chefs Select white and Chefs Select natural
parchment papers are approved for direct food contact. Q.
To what oven temperature can
Chefs Select Parchment Paper be used?
A.
Chefs Select Parchment Paper can be used in conventional ovens up to 400°F (200°C). It is the only material that goes from oven to freezer to
microwave.
Q.
Can Chefs Select Parchment Paper be recycled?
A.
Yes, it's 100% biodegradable. It's also reusable - batch after batch of cookies can be made without the need to grease cookie sheets, which saves on clean up. Chefs Select Parchment Paper may brown a little around the edges after a few uses, but it is still fine to use. And both sides are useable.
Q.

A.
Yes, Chefs Select Parchment Paper is Kosher for Passover.
Q.
Can Chefs Select Parchment Paper be used in cooking as well as baking?
A.
Yes, Chefs Select Parchment Paper is the most versatile product in the kitchen. Use it to line casseroles such as lasagna or scalloped potatoes to prevent baked-on food. It's good for roasting, steaming (en
papilotte), a cover when poaching or microwaving, and keeps food separate in the freezer. Parchment paper is strong and waterproof - wetting it on both sides makes is easier to shape into casseroles or
molds.
