Dark Chocolate Fondue with Fruit

Using low fat milk instead of the usual heavy cream will help you stick to your heart healthy resolutions. Serve with fruit dippers for an added antioxidant boost.

3 oz good quality semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp liqueur, optional
Dippers - sliced bananas, apples, pears, strawberries, kiwi wedges and orange segments

Combine chocolate and milk in a microwave bowl. Microwave, uncovered at medium-high for 1 to 2 minutes. Stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Stir in corn syrup and vanilla and liqueur, if using. Transfer to a small fondue pot over a candle to keep warm while dipping.  Makes 2 servings.

Make-ahead tip: Cover and refrigerate sauce until serving. Microwave at medium until warm.
